Center of Hope - Programs - Eskenazi Health

The Eskenazi Health Center of Hope, a program dedicated to caring for victims of sexual assault and family violence, was created in collaboration with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office in 1996 and continues to work closely with prosecutors, local law enforcement and victims’ assistance agencies to provide care for victims in the Indianapolis area.

Working with local law enforcement, all statements and protective orders can be made without leaving the Eskenazi Health downtown campus. Services include:

  • Counseling services

  • Crisis intervention services

  • Forensic evidence collection

  • Injury documentation

  • Medical care and follow-up

  • Prophylactic medication

  • Safety planning

  • Support group referrals

     

Along with caring for victims, the Center of Hope also helps other nurses become sexual assault examiners. The class offered meets International Association of Forensic Nurses standards.
