Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center invites mental health professionals to attend our virtual educational speaker series. This webinar is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 13 from 4 - 5 p.m.

The presentation will be led by Srikant Devaraj, Ph.D., speaking about current trends in substance use/misuse and mental health in Indiana. Dr. Devaraj serves as chair for the Indiana State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (SEOW) which has representatives from over 18 state agencies/divisions who are knowledgeable about behavioral, mental and emotional disorders and prevention, intervention and treatment issues. This workgroup, funded by Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction, uses epidemiological data and evidence-based practices to monitor substance use and behavioral health issues. The presentation will provide information on current trends and key findings on the prevalence and consequences of various substances (such as alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, opioids and stimulants use) in Indiana and also on mental health. The talk will also touch upon various policies and its potential impact.
