This afternoon, the Eskenazi Health Foundation received a $500,000 grant from Bank of America during a ceremony at the Eskenazi Health Thomas & Arlene Grande Campus in Indianapolis. This contribution will support the new 95,000 square-foot community-focused health center that opened its doors in April 2024 at 6002 E. 38th St. on the east side of Indianapolis.
This grant will play a crucial role in furthering Eskenazi Health’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality health care to all residents and will support the transformative work being done at the new state-of-the-art facility, specifically focusing on advancing health equity in the northeast corridor. As part of a broader initiative to develop health equity zones, this funding will enable Eskenazi Health to continue addressing disparities in health care access and achieve better outcomes for all.
“We support Eskenazi Health’s mission to improve the health and vitality of their patients, and, by extension, our community, which is why we are investing to help provide more accessible, high quality and affordable health care for eastside residents,” said Andy Crask, president, Bank of America Indianapolis. “This investment is an acknowledgement of Eskenazi Health’s longstanding commitment to addressing the social drivers that impact the health and well-being of residents in Marion County and across Central Indiana, which is why we strive to support their missions with this funding.”
“Everything we do at Eskenazi Health is in the interest of health equity. Making the opportunity of good health and access to care available to everyone in our community isn’t just a component of our mission, it is our mission,” said Lisa Harris, M.D., chief executive officer of Eskenazi Health. “We are grateful for the support from Bank of America, which will help us expand our reach as we continue to address the barriers that prohibit many in our community from living healthful lives.”
“Eskenazi Health Foundation is thankful for this significant gift from Bank of America,” said Ernest Vargo II, CFRE, president and chief executive officer of the Eskenazi Health Foundation. “Attending to social care is imperative and fundamental to improving overall health, but health care systems cannot do this alone. We are deeply appreciative of Bank of America’s support.”
