Indianapolis, July 19, 2017 – Highly-acclaimed physician and healthcare educator Dr. Curtis Wright has been named the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Eskenazi Medical Group.
Eskenazi Medical Group includes physicians of the Eskenazi Health system who are faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine specializing in primary care, including care for seniors, children and families, as well as hospitalists. The group has more than 180 physicians, advanced practice providers and staff providing care at the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and in 10 community health care centers throughout Indianapolis.
Dr. Wright was a fellow with America’s Essential Hospitals from 2011 – 2012, and previously served as the interim president and CEO of Eskenazi Medical Group.

A graduate of from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, Dr. Wright went through its internal medicine residency program. He was recruited to the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine in 2004, and, within Eskenazi Health, he has served as assistant chief of medicine, associate program director for internal medicine and medical director for hospital medicine.

Dr. Wright is a renowned medical educator and clinician, receiving multiple awards from the IU School of Medicine, including the Outstanding Clinician Award and the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics in 2005, the Distinguished Teaching Award from the Department of Medicine in 2007, the Trustee Teaching Award in 2009 and 2013, and Outstanding Faculty Educator by the graduating internal medicine and medicine-pediatrics residents in 2010.
