The Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital received the 2023 Indiana Hospital Association (IHA) INspire Hospital of Distinction recognition for the fourth consecutive year, which recognizes efforts to improve infant and maternal health.

IHA’s Inspire award, which is funded by the Indiana Department of Health’s Safety PIN (Protecting Indiana’s Newborns) grant, was developed to encourage the implementation of best practice care for Hoosier moms and babies and recognizes hospitals for excellence in addressing key drivers of infant and maternal health.

The INspire Hospital of Distinction recognition is given to hospitals that have implemented best practices in six key areas including safe infant sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco prevention and cessation, perinatal substance use, AIM (Alliance for Innovation in Maternal Health) safety bundles for obstetric hemorrhage and maternal hypertension, and addressing key social drivers of health.
