Enjoy music, face painting and a limited amount of free flu shots while visiting dozens of health screenings and information booths at the 10th annual Eskenazi Health Center Pecar Family Fun Fest.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, Eskenazi Health Center will present the Eskenazi Health Center Pecar Family Fun Fest, located at 6940 N. Michigan Rd. The free health fair will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to the entire community. A team of health care professionals will be on hand to answer questions and administer free health screenings in a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.
“The Eskenazi Health Center Pecar Family Fun Fest offers a great opportunity for us to give back to the community and at the same time allow the public to come and see the types of services we offer,” said Dr. Dawn Haut, chief physician executive of Eskenazi Health Center Pecar. “As we like to say at Eskenazi Health Center Pecar, we are celebrating world-class health care for an international community. This free health fair allows us to showcase those services that we provide to the community on an everyday basis.”
Health screenings provided during the fair will include blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, STD and HIV testing, along with free flu shots while supplies last. Participants will also have the chance to visit a wide variety of information booths on topics such as nutrition, dental care, mental health, community resources, WIC, smoking cessation, safe sleep and health insurance. Spanish interpreters, bilingual pamphlets and health information will also be available at the fair.
In addition to the numerous health screenings and informational booths, there will also be music, snacks and fun activities. Face painting for kids will also be offered, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the event.
