Marianne Tobias and special guest Melissa Dickson will perform on Thursday, June 6

Indianapolis, May 30, 2019 – Accomplished pianist Marianne Tobias, Ph.D., a resident musicologist, pre-concert lecturer and program annotator for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, will perform a special music concert with special guest vocalist Melissa Dickson on Thursday, June 6.

The concert will take place at noon in the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation Concourse at Eskenazi Health. This musical event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Eskenazi Health Parking Garage, located at 720 Eskenazi Ave.

When the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital opened its new campus in 2013, the public art program, expanded to include music. Through her gift to endow the Marianne Tobias Music Program at Eskenazi Health and her donation of the concert grand piano at the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, Tobias helped establish a program that has welcomed a diverse range of community and professional musicians to play on the Eskenazi Health campus. Her efforts coincided with Eskenazi Health’s vision of expanding the public art program engaging in all forms of art for the enjoyment of patients, visitors and staff.

Dickson is the Executive Director of External Affairs at the Indiana University Jacob School of Music. She joined the Jacobs School’s development office as assistant director in 2005 before serving as acting director from 2006 to 2008, significantly expanding vital relationships on behalf of the school, both on and off campus.
