Free sports physicals will be available from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Indianapolis, July 22, 2019 – Everyone is welcome to stop by Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street on Saturday, Aug. 3, to receive free health screenings while enjoying a wide variety of games and entertainment.
The Eskenazi Health Center Community Day Health Fair will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street at 5515 W. 38th Street in Indianapolis.
This year’s event is presented by three Eskenazi Health locations, Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street, Eskenazi Health Center Blackburn and Eskenazi Health Center Westside, along with the IU School of Medicine. Radio One is also partnering with Eskenazi Health for the event.
Free health screenings offered to visitors will include blood pressure, vision, BMI, diabetes, oral health screenings and more. Everyone attending the fair will have the opportunity to meet nurses and staff who provide care at the health center. Free sports physicals will be available for everyone ages 10-18 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Knowledgeable personnel will also be on hand at information booths covering a wide variety of health topics including but not limited to women’s health, nutrition, mental health, CPR training adolescent health, health insurance and more.
Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street provides primary care for everyone with services including health and wellness programs, prenatal care, urgent care, radiology, physical therapy, gynecological services, orthopedic services, integrated pain services, mammograms, dental services, sports medicine and other diagnostic testing services.
All guests will be eligible to participate in a variety of games and enjoy a Zumba class with hip hop aerobics.
“It won’t be long until it’s time to go back to school so this is the perfect time for you and your children to receive free health screenings and sports physicals during our annual Community Day Health Fair,” said Dr. Ken Klotz, chief medical officer for Eskenazi Health Center. “Our friendly and knowledgeable staff at Eskenazi Health is anxious to meet all of our visitors and share our knowledge that equates to everyone enjoying a more healthful and happier lifestyle.”
Eskenazi Health Center West 38th Street brings comprehensive health care to the area served by the International Marketplace Coalition, formerly the Lafayette Square Area Coalition, in a way that is environmentally friendly, culturally focused and available for all. The facility was designed to represent a community center that also offers health care.

For the third consecutive year, the Eskenazi Health Center Community Day Health Fair at our West 38th Street facility will take place just before the National Health Center Week, Aug. 4-10, 2019. The theme for this year’s nationwide celebration is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: Rooted in Communities.” As a local community owned and operated businesses, health centers serve over 27 million Americans at more than 9,000 delivery sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. territories.
