The Marianne Tobias Music Program will feature accordion and hurdy gurdy duo, Zaba, on Wednesday, July 10, at 12 p.m. in the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation Concourse.

Tomás Lozano is a singer, musician, composer, scholar, and writer born in Barcelona, Spain to Andalusian parents. Lozano performs contemporary, popular, and European folk music from France, Spain, Britian, and the Middle East. Additionally, he often performs solo or accompanied original compositions on guitar or the hurdy gurdy, a string instrument that produces sound by a hand-crank-turned, rosined wheel rubbing against the strings.

Bayan accordion player Svetla Vladeva was born in Kazanlak, Bulgaria, and came to the United States in 1997. She has resided in Bloomington, Indiana for the past twenty-five years.  Svetla graduated from the Academy of Music, Fine Arts and Dance in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where she majored in music education, accordion, and piano.  She has performed internationally and in local Bloomington venues such as the Lotus World Arts Festival and various concert halls at Indiana University.
