Eskenazi Health offers services for pregnant people with opioid and other substance use disorders. The program has a family-centered approach and provides a primary care home for patients, in addition to substance use disorder treatment. Services are ongoing throughout pregnancy and beyond, building long-term relationships between families and the health care team.
Services include prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care, primary and substance-related care, pediatric primary and developmental care, and counseling for pregnant and postpartum people and their support partners. Buprenorphine (Suboxone) and methadone are available for medication-assisted treatment.
Treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD and other mental health conditions is provided by the team, with referral to psychiatric specialists available as needed. The foundation of the program is team-based care provided with respect and compassion.
