Nominations Needed for Fathers and Families Celebration - Eskenazi Health

Do you have or know an outstanding father in Marion County who is responsible for helping develop strong relationships within his family and his community? Nominate him today for the Heart of a Father Award presented by Managed Health Services (MHS).

Each year, Fathers and Families Center recognizes those fathers who exemplify involvement, consistency, awareness and nurturing by presenting up to five deserving men the Heart of a Father Award at its annual Faces of Fatherhood Luncheon. For the third consecutive year, Fathers and Families Center is proud to announce that Citizens Energy Group will be the presenting sponsor of the luncheon and MHS will be the presenting sponsor of the Heart of a Father Award.

Nominations must be submitted by a senior officer of a business or community-based organization. Award forms are available at www.fatherresource.org. Individual nominations are also being accepted this year for the Heart of a Father Award and can be found at the Fathers and Families Center Facebook page. Email completed nomination forms to admin@fatherresource.org, or mail them to: Fathers and Families Center, Attn: Awards Panel, 2835 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN, 46208. The deadline for nominations is April 25, 2014.

Nominees must be a biological father, legal stepfather or adoptive father residing in Marion County who acts as a positive role model and takes responsibility for every facet of his children’s development. There is a limit of one nomination per organization/individual. The nominated individual must agree to be nominated and must also be available to attend the awards luncheon on Friday, June 13, at The Conrad Indianapolis.

"Being a responsible father is a daunting, yet rewarding, task," said Rodric Reid, manager of annual giving and special projects at Fathers and Families Center. "A responsible father is a key ingredient in developing strong relationships, strong families and strong communities – and we want to honor those fathers for all they do."

Award recipients will receive the Heart of a Father Award presented by MHS, recognition as an outstanding father and a $250 cash prize. The nominated fathers will be judged by an independent awards panel at Fathers and Families Center.

"We focus on the importance of healthy living at MHS and making wellness a team effort within the family," said MHS President and CEO Patrick Rooney. "Having a strong father figure in the family who plays an integral role in the family’s wellness is certainly something to be honored and celebrated with the Heart of a Father Award."
