Partnering with the Indiana University School of Medicine, Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Accredited by The Joint Commission and named one of the nation’s 150 best places to work by Becker’s Hospital Review, Eskenazi Health’s programs have received national recognition while also offering new health care opportunities to the local community. As the sponsoring hospital for Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services, the city’s primary EMS provider, Eskenazi Health is also home to the first adult Level I trauma center in Indiana, the only verified adult burn center in Indiana and the first community mental health center in Indiana, just to name a few.

    Eskenazi Health exists to promote equity. It is the very foundation upon which the organization was built more than 160 years ago. Along with equity, diversity and inclusion are at the core of what Eskenazi Health is as an organization. Continued focus on these principles allows Eskenazi Health to better live out the mission and values and contributes to everything done in the community.

    With this in mind, Eskenazi Health has partnered with other local health care systems and the Indianapolis Recorder and Greater Indianapolis Branch of the NAACP to create the Central Indiana Alliance for Health Equity website with the goal of improving access to high-quality and equitable health care for all in Central Indiana. It includes reports that focus on health equity data for blood pressure, diabetes and the health of mother/baby.
