Aug. 30, 2018 - Eskenazi Health is once again partnering with the Indy Jazz Fest to celebrate the rich history of jazz in our city by kicking off the annual festivities with a free concert featuring the Indy Jazz Fest Band on Tuesday, Sept. 4, on The Commonground at the Sydney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, 720 Eskenazi Ave. The concert begins at 12 p.m. Parking is available in the Eskenazi Health Parking Garage.

Now in his eighth year working at Eskenazi Health, Robert “Fernow” McClure was originally hired to be a social worker and now his current title is manager of Eskenazi Health Special Medicine, an area that offers access to medical specialty care physicians by partnering with the patient’s primary care provider to diagnose and manage complex or chronic health care needs.

Eskenazi Health provides pediatric urology services during the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month on the third floor of the Sandra Eskenazi Outpatient Care Center at 720 Eskenazi Ave.

In the 17 years Kimberly Curry has worked at Eskenazi Health, she has consistently taken on larger and more challenging responsibilities. In her current role, Curry serves as the director of specialty care services, where she’s responsible for more than 40 specialty clinics in the Sandra Eskenazi Outpatient Care Center.

July 25, 2018 –Eskenazi Health will offer free health screenings and helpful resources to the public on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Eskenazi Health Community Day Health Fair. This year’s event will be at Eskenazi Health West 38th Street, 5515 W. 38th Street. The fair will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Diabetes has become a significant and growing health concern across the country. There is rarely a day that goes by that I am not faced with a patient asking me about diabetes and its health impact.

July 9, 2018 – Eskenazi Health will be hosting several upcoming Stop the Bleed training sessions conducted by the Smith Level I Shock Trauma Center at Eskenazi Health. The training is aimed at educating the public on bleeding control techniques including application of direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet usage. These highly interactive sessions help train participants in what to do before medical help arrives. It’s estimated that 20 percent of people who die from traumatic injuries could have survived with quick bleeding control.

INDOT will close portions of I-65 in Indianapolis for approximately 35 days beginning on July 1 for bridge preservation projects.
