Feb. 11, 2019 – Eskenazi Health will host a Nurse Networking Career Event on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. Nursing specialties highlighted at the event include critical care, acuity adaptable (medical/surgical/telemetry), mental health, women’s and children’s services, operating room, PACU, regional burn center and primary care.

Feb. 5, 2019 – Eskenazi Health is now accepting applications for its 2019 VolunTEEN Summer Program. The annual VolunTEEN program allows teenagers to experience professional service and shadowing for students on a path to becoming health care professionals.

This exercise helps to strengthen the legs and improve balance.

Extreme cold temperatures are forecasted to hit Central Indiana this week and the Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center at Eskenazi Health is warning the public to take extreme caution to avoid the excruciating pain and discomfort of frostbite and other cold weather injuries.

The Eskenazi Health Foundation recently announced its board appointments for 2019. John T. Thompson will serve as chairman of the board for the second consecutive year. In addition, the following new members were appointed to the board.

Jan. 18, 2019 – As brutally cold weather continues to descend on Central Indiana and forecasts calling for heavy snow and ice this weekend, it becomes important to review suggestions on how to take precautions and avoid the overexposure to frigid conditions.

In observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday on Monday, Jan. 21, certain Eskenazi Health departments will either be closed or observe alternate hours. Some departments will maintain normal operating hours.

Jan. 9, 2019 – Four talented string musicians with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) will perform an all-French program at Eskenazi Health on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The 12:30 p.m. performance will take place in the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation Concourse on the first floor of the Sandra Eskenazi Outpatient Center, 720 Eskenazi Ave. Parking is available in the Eskenazi Health Parking Garage.

Jan. 8, 2019 – Flu has reached widespread levels across Indiana, including Marion County. In response to the rising flu activity, Marion County Public Health Department director Virginia A. Caine, M.D., is requesting that hospitals in Marion County begin temporary restrictions for visitors.

Jan. 8, 2019 - Eskenazi Health and Eskenazi Health Foundation announce a $75,000 grant from the Fifth Third Foundation Strengthening our Communities Fund to expand the Initiative for Empowerment and Economic Independence (IEEI). The Eskenazi Health program provides meaningful internships for students from Indiana colleges and universities to help students achieve gainful, equitable and sustainable employment.
