    ​Free concert will showcase classic Latin jazz selections Indianapolis, Sept. 8, 2017 – Recognized and appreciated for their high-energy and challenging music, jazz trio Pavel Polanco-Safadit & Direct Contact will perform a free concert at the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital on Thursday, Sept. 14. In partnership with the 2017 Indy Jazz Fest (Sept. 14-23), the concert will begin at 12 p.m. (noon) in the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation Concourse where everyone will have the opportunity to celebrate the trio’s Latin jazz music. The concert will offer a preview of the group’s upcoming “Colombia” concert at the Indianapolis Central Library on Sunday, Sept. 17.

  • ​Eskenazi Health Encourages Appropriate Precautions during Solar Eclipse

    Indianapolis, Aug. 10, 2017 – On Monday, August 21, 2017, a brief solar eclipse will be visible beginning noon Eastern Daylight Time across North America when the moon blocks the sun for approximately 2 minutes 40 seconds, in which the otherwise hidden solar corona, or outer atmosphere, will be made visible. This will be the first solar eclipse over the U.S. mainland since 1979 and the first to cross from coast to coast since 1918. Indianapolis will not experience a total eclipse, so viewing the sun directly during this time will be unsafe and could burn the delicate structures of the eye.
