The Smith Level I Shock Trauma Center at Eskenazi Health, one of only two adult Level I trauma centers in the state, hopes to educate others about preventable alcohol-related injuries this holiday season.​

Eskenazi Health is working with some of America’s most prestigious design and architecture firms to create The Commonground at the Eskenazi Health campus.

Saturday, Dec. 7, was the official first day for the new Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and the final day of operation for Wishard Memorial Hospital, which operated for more than 150 years just east of the new Eskenazi Health campus.

149 patients were transferred from Wishard to the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, and many patients were discharged to home starting yesterday.

For the first time in more than 40 years a completely new Indianapolis downtown hospital campus will open when Eskenazi Health begins caring for patients at the new Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The community will have a chance to tour the new Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and Eskenazi Health campus for the first time at a special Public Dedication and Ribbon-Cutting on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
